The China Labor Watch and DanWatch (an investigative journalism outlet) has released the results of an unercover sting operation shooting footage at factories in China as part of a joint project. The initiative was meant to bring to light the plight of the workers, who were allegedly living in cramped conditions and getting paid extremely low monthly wages (below $500USD).

The investigation covered four factories in China, all of which produce PC parts for Dell and other vendors including HP, Samsung and Microsoft, according to the watchdog groups. The four factories being scrutinized are independently run, but provide services to the same conglomerate of tech companies.

Dell has added that it will investigate the alleged labor violations raised by the investigation.
