Education is changing in the African continent, and technology is playing a defining role. A Technology panel in Washington DC named ‘How is ICT Impacting Education in Rwanda’ featured panelists discussing the Rwanda Education Commons and OLE Rwanda.

Rwanda Education Commons — a USAID funded initiative with the Rwandan Ministry of Education — has developed an online platform known as “Teachmate”, leveraging handheld computers (of the XO brand) focusing on enhancing literacy among the disadvantage in Rwanda’s schools.

The RME is featuring the REO to demonstrate the efficacy of ICT in impacting Education.
