IDA blames outage of Singapore government websites on ‘routing issues’, ‘hardware failure’

Anonymous has been largely silent in the West over the last few years, but recent incidents have picked up their infamy in the eastern bloc. Nearly 170 websites in the Phillipines and Australia have been defaced or taken down recently by the group.

Anonymous has been suspected in the recent outage of nearly 19 Singaporean government websites.

An incident report by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has determined that “routing problems” from an unnamed Internet Service Provider (ISP), along with the hardware failure of an internet router, were the causes of the massive outage.

IDA is waiting on an incident report from the ISP to explain the hardware collapse.
