Earlier this week, further Snowden leaks reveal the extent of money expenditured towards NSA surveillance. As the tech community’s fervor towards the leaks grows, more and more developers are taking an in-house defense to prevent their technology from being used as a vehicle of surveillance.

Enter AppPrivacy.

An application developed by a trade organization MEF, AppPrivacy asks developers to fill out a short survey about their application, and automatically generates a (supposedly) iron clad privacy policy document aimed to bolster transparency. The organization is represented by a coalition of different lawyers and activists, all aiming to push transparency in applicaiton development to curb the efficacy of secret surveillance.
