Google receives tens of thousands of private user data requests from 30 different governments

November 15, 2013 | Written by The Grand Signal

The floodgates are slowly letting go.

As tech giants continue to fight with the courts to get the right to disclose information about private data requests, Google has landed the most recent blow with a fairly comprehensive representation of the amount of data requests it’s gotten from various governments. The number? Nearly 26,000 requests from 30 different countries.

Over a third of these requests came from the U.S. alone. You can find an interactive map of all requests made here.
